Our History
Oakwood is an Intermediate Care Facility supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Opened in 1972, Oakwood is a state facility located in scenic Somerset, Kentucky, nestled between Lake Cumberland and the Daniel Boone National Forest. New Vista began operating Oakwood in 2006, with the goal to assist people in developing skills and interests to help them reach personal goals and live meaningful, balanced lives.
